„The New Concepts, Technologies/Equipment for the Development of Romanian Naval Forces”

I. PURPOSE:

Providing a forum for discussions and debates with topics of interest to the Romanian Naval Forces on medium and long term development directions (2026/2040).

II. DATE:

24-25.06.2021 (rescheduled date if needed: 29-30.06.2021),

III. THE PLACE:

Naval Academy „Mircea cel Bătrîn”, Constanța

IV. OBJECTIVES:

a) Assessment of security challenges in the Black Sea region and the potential use of new technologies and especially unmanned systems and successful fulfillment of missions deriving from the naval, river and maritime interests of Romania with its status as member of the North Atlantic Alliance, of the European Union and other regional initiatives;
b) Main concepts presentation, principles and norms that govern the organization, endowment and use of the Naval Forces in order to fulfill the whole range of missions that belong to this category of armed forces at national, multinational and joint level;
c) Presentation of the new equipment included in the ROU Navy endowment, as well as the main projects for development and modernization of major combat forces and equipment for the Romanian Naval Forces within the “Romanian Army 2026/2040” program, and the new applicable technologies (eg MUS).

1. Characteristics and challenges of the operational environment in the Black Sea region;
2. Concepts, principles, norms specific to the naval field;
3. Technique and technologies of the future.
