DEPUTY CHIEF of RESOURCES under CHIEF of NAVAL FORCES STAFF

Rear Admiral (LH) Daniil Trică

Rear Admiral Daniil Trică was born on October 17, 1968 in Stoina, Gorj County. He graduated from “Dimitrie Cantermir” Military High School in Breaza in 1987. Afterwards, he attended the Faculty of Electronics and Informatics within the Military Technical Academy, specializing in Naval Radar and Hydro-location Engineering from 1988 to 1993.

He began his career as Commander of an Observation, Communications and Electronics Unit on 29 Maritime Minesweeper Division 176. From 1998, he worked as staff officer (Chief of Communications) in the 79th Frigate Division of the 56th Anti-Submarine Warfare Brigade.

In February 2001 he was appointed Naval Forces General Staff where until 2013 he held various executive and leadership positions (Staff Officer, Head of Office and Section) within the Logistics Department with responsibilities in research, development and maintenance of Naval assets and equipment.

From 2013 to 2017 he served as Head of Logistics Services within the Naval Forces General Staff and on February 1, 2018 he was appointed Head of the Resources Office. On October 1, 2020 he was mandated and subsequently on March 1, 2001 he was appointed Deputy Chief of Resources under Chief of Naval Forces Staff.

On November 1, 2014 he was appointed Chief of Operations at the Naval Forces General Staff and since December he served as Deputy Chief of Defense Staff.

Throughout his career he has furthered his professional training by completing specialized courses for senior officers at “Mircea cel Bătrân” Naval Academy “, “Allied Joint Operations Staff Officers” Course at “Carol I” National Military Defense Academy and English Language Course at the Military Naval Academy. Between 2011 and 2012, he graduated from the courses of Naval Command College within the United States Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island.

From 1996 to 2014 he participated in NATO and NATO/Cooperative Partner for Peace (1996 – 2000, 2002), Cooperative MACO (2006) – project officer, Cooperative Marlin (2007, 2008), Black Sea Partnership (2008) – observer for Naval CSBM, as well as in BLACKSEAFOR between 2010 and 2011.

From 2016 to 2019 he represented Romanian Naval Forces in Operational Planning Conferences for the NATO Standing Naval Forces.

In recognition of his professionalism, in successfully fulfilling assigned missions he was awarded “Virtutea Maritimă” Order as knight, Emblem of Honor of the Romanian Army, Emblem of Honor of General Staff of Defense, Emblem of Honor of Naval Forces, Emblem of Honor of Land Forces, and Emblem of Honor of Military Medicine.

In January 2023 he was appointed Deputy Chief of Naval Operations and Training under chief of Naval Forces, according to the order of the Minister of National Defense – number MP – 5 th of January 2023.

He speaks English fluently.
