Master Chief Petty Officer Ștefan NIȚU

He completed his post graduate training during the Joint Strategic Leadership Course - National Defence University „Carol I” in 2010, the Naval Command College Course - Newport, RI, USA (2015), Combined Force Maritime Component Commander Flag Course at USA Naval War College and U.S. Naval Forces Europe-U.S. Naval Forces Africa, Naples, Italy (2021) and Senior Leaders course, Baltic Command College, Riga, Latvia (2022). Throughout his military career, he represented the Romanian Naval Forces by participating in different operations and exercises, such as Cooperative Engagement 2003 in Croatia as operations officer on board Divers Support Ship "Grozavul".

His professional skills were deepened by completing and completing the marine training courses (2009), the "Study in non-commissioned officer development" course (2010), as well as the "Leadership Principles Senior Enlisted" seminar (2011). In 2015, he graduated from the course for the position of commander's advisor, where he obtained the first average in the country.

After graduating from the "Admiral Ion Murgescu" Naval Forces Military School of Warrant Officers, he successively held the following positions - commander of the signaling wheelhouse group on the missile carrier "Uliul" - 195 (1987-1988), commander of the signaling wheelhouse group on the missile carrier "Şoimul" - 194 (1992), commander of the signaling wheelhouse group on the missile carrier "Lăstunul" - 190 starting with 1992, until 2000, when he was appointed crew chief and with administration on the missile carrier "Lăstunul" - 190.

1 December 2009, he was appointed advisor to the commander for issues of military foremen and non-commissioned officers within the 150th Naval Missile Division. In June 2022, he was appointed head of the N1 personnel department, personnel and mobilization within the same division. Starting in May 2024, he was empowered to act as military foremen of command at the "Vice Admiral Vasile Urseanu" Fleet Command.

He participated in numerous multinational missions and exercises, such as: the international mission NATO Permanent Naval Mine Countermeasures Group SNMCMG2, aboard the mine and net layer "Vice-Admiral Constantin BĂLESCU" - 274, both in 2020 and 2021, where he served as crew chief. In 2022, he participated, aboard the NMH "Comandor Alexandru Cătuneanu", in the REP-MUS and DYMS 22 mission in the Atlantic Ocean. In 2023, he participated in the international training march of the "Mircea" training ship, thus making a significant contribution to the training of students.

In appreciation of his activity and the remarkable results obtained, he was awarded the following distinctions: Emblem of Merit "Humanitarian Actions" Class III, Emblem of Honor of the Directorate for Prevention and Investigation of Corruption and Fraud, Medal "Maritime Virtue" Class II, National Medal "For Merit" Class I, Veteran of Theaters of Operations, Emblem of Merit "In the Service of Peace" Class II, National Medal "For Merit" Class II, Emblem of Honor of the Defense General Staff, Emblem of Merit "Humanitarian Actions" Class II, Emblem of Honor of the Naval Forces, Medal "Maritime Virtue" Class III, Honorary Sign "In the Service of the Fatherland" for 25, 20 and 15 years of activity, Man of the Year in the Naval Forces 2014 and in 2020, Faithful Service Class II, the Emblem of Merit "In the Service of the Romanian Army" II-a class and the National Medal "For Merit" Class III class.

Also, the senior military foreman is the president of the "Callatis" branch of the Romanian Army Charity Association "CAMARAZII" and a member of the board of directors of the same association, thus combining his military career with volunteering.

He is married and has two children.
