Historical overview

On April 1st, 1962, the 325 Coastal Base was established, with its permanent deployment location in the Tulcea garrison. Over time, the unit has had multiple names and subordinations, leading up to the current 325 Logistics Section Tulcea, which is subordinate to the Naval Logistics Base "Pontica".

325 Logistics Section provides logistical support to Naval Forces units operating in Tulcea garrison area and the Danube Delta during peacetime, crisis and war situations. The main missions of the unit are: supplying, repairing and docking, towing, rescue operations, medical assistance, and religious support for the assigned structures. It also ensures the generation and operationalization of structures within the Naval Forces that will be established in times of war in Tulcea garrison, intended for military operations on the river and in the Danube Delta. The unit supports central and local authorities in emergency situations through humanitarian actions, search and rescue operations on the river within its responsibility area, or intervention with troops and equipment in emergency situations.

The following ships are part of the unit: Siret Flagship, Fortuna Flagship, 417 Propelled River Tug, 328 River Tug, 457 Propelled River Ferry, 341 River Tank, and Floating Workshop 49.
